Sorry about not posting yesterday, i was spending my time getting rained on at Lancaster Uni. However i won't be talking about my time there, instead i will use this opportunity to talk about one the best modern pieces of TV, of course i'm talking about Deadliest Warrior. It was the wonderful Charlie Brooker who first introduced this magnificent show, and curious i gave it a watch. Wow. I mean it is such a simple idea, and it just seems to work.
If you don't know about it then, essentially what happens is 2 warriors who never fought each other in history are pitted against each other in a computer simulation. Of course for the simulation data has to be collected which involves pig carcasses, ballistic gel bodies and lots of blood. Each warrior is represented by a team of experts who use their weapons to slice, stab and blow up the various targets, and data is collected from this, although i think the main purpose is just for some awesome tv footage.
The best part though has to be the acted simulation to display the computer results, i urge you just to watch one of these if not the whole show. Although that only comes just above the great introduction line of "a team of scientists", now if they're scientists, i want to be a scientist. I mean having a job that just involves watching things get cut up/ shot and all you have to do is stand there and make random comments, that's one awesome job.
Now one of the highlights of the whole 3 series has to be the IRA vs Taliban, it might sound quite stupid but every time you watch you do support a team, and for this one the IRA was my team, but i won't ruin it by telling you who won, but please give it a watch at least because it's so inappropriate but so fun. However saying that series 3 has an even more inappropriate match up with Pol Pott taking on Sadam Hussein, i know crazy right!
But the most brilliant idea was the finale of series 3, which i found myself watching last night. Vampires, yes vampires, against Zombies. Whoever thought of that is a genius frankly, and in case you want to know how on earth they managed to to it, then i'm not going to tell you, you're going to have to watch it instead, but i guarantee it won't disappoint.
